This is Journey of the Sorcerer (used as the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Theme), as it is played in the last fit of the last series of the revived radio show. Don't pretend you're a Hitchhiker's fan if you've just seen the movie. The movie doesn't count in that regard.

Edit: I spent about 10 minutes on this and, being very lazy, ran it through an online mp3-image merger so I would be able to upload it. That's why it's advertising a site at the top. I actually wouldn't recomend the site. It screwed some things up that I had to fix.

  • You got a thumbs down for your asinine comment in the video description. Appreciate that people have found something to enjoy, even if it's through a medium you don't particularly like. The movie was superb.

  • @MasteroChieftan Opinions. I have them, you have them, we all have them!

  • @Werewolf2382 The status of being a fan is not a matter of opinion though. If someone says they are a fan, well, then they are indeed a fan. There's some people that know every lyric to every song of their favorite band. There's people who know one less lyric than the other person to their favorite band. That doesn't make them NOT a fan. Don't judge people based on HOW they know the material. It's not opinion.

  • @MasteroChieftan The opinion part was "The movie was superb."

Okay then, people who saw The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and liked it, with no other exposure to the rest of Adams' work are 'fans' then. Just like the people who saw Harry Potter 7 Part 2, without reading any of the books or watching any of the other films, are also fans. Or people who saw the 2009 Star Trek movie are 'fans'. I'll go no further lest I tread on the toes of the True Scottsman.

  • My first exposure to the series was the movie. I didn't care for it at first. Then I got bored of thinking I was a lemon and went sane. I watched the movie again and realized how good it was. After a while, I decided to go to Borders and give the series a proper reading. Then I really realized how good the series was. Do I count as a fan?

  • @mysterykcad

    >if you've *just* seen the movie.

Did I say you weren't, comrade?

  • @MasteroChieftan No, the movie which rewrote the book so that the story would play well in a worldwide market, which was shot adequately with a cast that ranged from OK to ridiculously shit, with completely standard fx (keying etc. particularly) and lazy, unoriginal comedy, was appalling. And I wouldn't be telling anyone to "get over" themselves if I had claimed that my opinion was fact instead of... y'know, fucking opinion.

The film sucked balls. You should do likewise.

  • @Useless2112 Yes, the movie, which carried out the point of the book fine and was actually very well shot and acted with great specfx and comedy, was appalling. Get over yourself. The movie was fine. The "true fans" are appalling.

  • @MasteroChieftan The movie was appalling.

  • >decries movie

    >>>uses movie art for video

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>there are not enough right angle brackets in the whole god damn world

  • @Werewold2382 Don't pretend you're an Eagles fan if you've just heard this song. Especially this short version of it.

  • @jazza1975 Nah, you can be a fan, but you HAVE to listen to the radio show! I HIGHLY recommend it!

  • The Radio show *IS* HHGTTG.

  • mmm now i've read about 90% of Hitchhikers books, watched the series and the film, played the games based on it but i have NEVER heard the BBC Radio Show so i obviously cant be a fan can I?????

  • @Werewolf2382 The movie was completely official, and Adams put a lot of work into it before his death. Yeah, it didn't reach the standards of most Hitchhikers media, but still, the guy who knows every little piece of trivia off by heart is no more a fan than the kid who really likes Marvin.

  • Unless you have truly sat through and watched EVERY episode, you are no fan.
