The wooden yacht acquired a more public profile in the 1960's during John Fitzgerald Kennedy's presidency.JFK renamed her the Honey Fitz, the nickname used by his maternal grandfather, and spent most summer weekends and many holidays in Palm Beach and Newport aboard with family and close friends.Just a few months before JFK was assassinated,Jackie Kennedey threw a suprise birthday for him aboard the Honey Fitz.
Two different yachts, cuddle moose.

I'm confused. Is the "Honey Fitz" and the "Sequoia" the same boat?

@JoeRnCT The back wards tow is for drag. Keep the Honey Fitz from making skids or wandering as its not under power and rudders are not being used. Or are not that effective with out the screws turning.

I was on that ship when it was owned by a guy who owned the Showboat Inn hotel / restaurant in Greenwich, CT. By the way....shouldn't the towed boat be facing forward for less drag???
