It's amazing how much she can communicate while barely 'singing' at all...she is completely in the song....living it.

she looks and sounds great Liza you are last of a lost breed you are a true talent your fans love you
-
A deceptively simple song, and she--of course--nails it!

Happy 65th Birthday, Liza!

it has to be translated with a woman's point of view hence the translation is a bit off

She looks great and she sings it from the heart. I't's a pity that the lyrics don't translate so well from French into English. Although Charles Aznavour's version in English is still very good.

LIZA is just like her MAMA! A Phoenix rising from the highest hilltop. Love this song! Thanks for the post:)

There never was a more intelligent performer that Liza Minnelli. Emotionally, intellectually.

This has been a favorite of mine for years. She has still got it!
Liza is looking and sounding good! Something about Liza cries out for love and this is, in part, I think, why her fans love her so much. She is one of those rare artists who dare convey vulnerability, so in other words, she presents as a real person, and therefore connects with her audience in a genuine way. All power to Liza, and here's to a great tour in the UK this year!

She's been singing this song for at least 35 years; its on the 1972 recording of Liza with a Z. Even though her vocal chops have greatly diminished, she can still convey the heart of this story. In fact, it just gets better with age.
