here is a video i took after i finished removing the air condition blower motor from a 2007 Mazda 3. this was a royal pain in the butt! the service manual is a total lie, it doesn't tell u all that you have to remove to get this thing out.

u have to remove both front seats for room.
steering column
brake pedal assembly
gas pedal
knee guard
lower center kick panel
lower right kick panel

passenger side

remove glove box,
lower left kick panel
lower center kick panel
then unscrew 3 hard to reach screws to remove RECIRC box

back to drivers side

unhook blower motor snorkel
release circle clip that holds fan in place
remove really hard to reach screws for resistor
unplug hard to reach blower motor plug.

back to passenger side.

pull blower motor out.
by the way . u need someone else to hold the blower motor when reattaching the white circle clip (white plastic ring that locks the motor in place)

i hope this helps someone that was tryin to do this.

  • would it be the same process's/ parts for a 2005 model? I was quoted a price of $800 just for the parts and $600 for labor is that just?

  • @gezzy21 from what i know. u have to pull the front doors off to completely remove the dashboard to do the same thing. Mazda revised this on the 07 and up models... but i wouldnt call this a revision. this still took me a long time to do.

  • i am experiencing the same shit fml for real

  • WOW!! Great vid. Kudos on your handiness. Dealer quoted me about 6-7 hundred for a blower replacement. This vid means I may consider that... certainly not a DIY job for me. Granted, it's a 2009 Mazda5 so who know's how different it is, but dealer did indeed say there's a lot of labor involved. Thanks for the vid!

  • Good lord I have a 2006 mazda and my blower motor fan comes on when it feels like it and I am going to have to fix it I had no idea I was going to have to do all of this crap. FML

  • Remind me never to buy a Mazda.
