i threw my de soldering kit in the bin (scrap heap) because i found a better faster more efficient way to remove i.c`s from circuit boards . i will never use a de-soldering kit again because it takes too long and damages most sensitive i.c´s with the extreme temp and it is still difficult to remove i.c´s after de -soldering , pliers should never be used !!! especially with 555 timers and variable resistors e.c.t . in this video i show how i can just pop them out easily and fast without a single mark to the i.c . sorry about the sound quality (dodgey cheap camera phone)

  • my biggest problem was removing caps with a de-soldering kit because when you use a de-soldering kit succesfully you still need to pull the chosen component out with some force and quite often the 2 prongs on "most" caps come out with just the smallest of pull force , using a small angle grinder like i show in this video makes retrevial of all components fast and easy and since this video i have a good bucket full of all kinds of weird and wonderfull components all breadboard compatable ;)

  • I just use a desoldering braid and haven't burned up a component yet.

The nice thing about it is that instead of shorting the already short component leads by grinding them down, you're left with a lead long enough to resolder.

  • nice vids very informative but dude with your electronics experiance cant u do something about the SOUND!

  • I use a propane burner in the open air. Works fast and perfect. I clamp the board, and I use a pliers to get my parts. If you take the burner you only need a very short time to heat up the solder carefully. I always try to avoid that I burn the board, the fumes are not healthy, but the dust from grinding isn't healthy either. After some practice it turned out to be the fastest and easiest way for me to remove the parts from the board.
