My friend is a volunteer for the mounted patrol and there is a private "zoo" I guess you would call it and she trail rode with a camal and her horse met a giraffe :)
The dragon slayer was really funny. Your boy kicked out when he saw that scarey critter but didnt spook.

As for your question of knowing the obsticles before hand:
You have no clue as to the coarse. They do a walk through 15 minutes prior to the start of the competition (without horses)

No, none of that information is ever out until you walk the course that day of the competition.
Again, thank you;) This was my geldings first time in this type (or any) of competition. I mostly do trails out in the middle of nowhere so this was all new to him.
