@tich302001 i know its usch a shame i realy want them to bring it back i have email the bbc before but i had no response from them but i may try again i was thinking if lots of people kept asking maybe they would consider becuse they did show a program return to airport i think in 2008 but i missed that :( lol

I don't think this is the very first episode either, if I remember rightly, Corrine, the personal shopper didn't appear until a few series in. The titles were different as well, I think, but they could have only had the rights to use one set of titles on "Dave" and just use them for all episodes.

I do like however, that in 1999 the policewoman only tells him take his briefcase in case it gets stolen, yet is perfectly happy to let him leave his suitcase unattended!

Not sure if this is the first ever episode - the series launched in 1996, but this one has the newest BBC logo on it, launched in 1997. Pedantic I know.
