@blueheadedpants  yea 2.5 is still in alpha, but it is such an improvement over 2.49 that I only use blender 2.5 at this point

i'm using blender 2.59 and when particles pop out they are from both side of the plane - up and down. And under Children i don't have Face. I have None, Simple and Interpolated. When I press Interpolated few option are like in Face tab by you, but other are different or missing :/ Can you help me? TNX!

@MrMyface210 In blender 2.5.9 you have to click on the Advanced checkbox to get the Velocity option panel

@goldaceofspades Are you sure the lamps are pointing toward the plane? If it seems that it is pointing toward the plane, check from different views and angles.

when i did my it turned out very odd...

When I tried to do this, the second material you have us add won't take. The grass won't turn green, as it were. I did everything you said but, when I switched to texture, it won't show the green. Why would that be?
