I wonder what the name of the band that was doing this for real? I liked there version of these songs.

@AlienVisitor According to Wikipedia, these are the members of the band who did the music for Backbeat:
Dave Pirner (Soul Asylum): vocals
Greg Dulli (The Afghan Whigs): vocals
Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth): guitar
Don Fleming (Gumball): guitar
Mike Mills (R.E.M.): bass guitar
Dave Grohl (Nirvana/Foo Fighters): drums
So it's not an actual band, it's just a bunch of guys from other bands who got together to do the soundtrack for this movie. XD
