My apologies to friends who I know and don't know who are Christians, and are just wonderful and real good human beings. I LOVE Tibet, China for all it's natural spectacular grandeur, colorful culture and mind cultivating spiritual aspects to life, as well as being my relatively close ethnic brothers and sisters of the high plateau of China's great southwest. Tibet, thank goodness, has been freed from the cruel theorcratic rule and serfdom that, according to an early western traveler to Tibet, Charles A Bell, is "hell on earth", during his visit in 1920. Indeed, the 14th Dalai Lama was not the first to call Tibet "hell on earth".

I know from personal experience, that the free speech zombies don't have a passion for Tibet as much as they have a desire to hate China. China and Tibet are intimately intertwined. China and Tibet will continue to grow, develop and prosper together, while those free speech manhandlers / free Tibet zombies will continue to try and distract attention away from their hypocrisies and inhumanities. Such is the nature of lackluster education and understanding of foreign culture, especially the multi-ethnic Chinese culture and history, that leads to racism and sinophobia.

Please don't put words into other people's mouths. 中华民族 is simply a fact of life in mainland China, I live there oftenly, I know ^.^ As for the most notable of barbarians, the Xiongnu many enjoyed the cultured lifestyle south of great wall, and assimilated into Han Chinese. Xiongnu still outside great wall retained their nomadic ways. Xiongnu that migrated to European lands became the feared Huns, and Europeans, without great wall, couldn't deal with Xiongnu like the Han empire ^.^

its good idea next time you state the academic reference where you get the "xiongnu and chinese are 中華民族" from, from what i learn Xiongnu were always categorized foreign barbarian by our ancestors, so please respect history, otherwise, Japanese can also be consider 中華民族 ^.^

yes indeed ^.^ this is why many Xiongnu migrated south to a better lifestyle and environment, and have allied and assimilated with Han empire to help stop those Xiongnu bandit armies. Sima Qian's Shiji is a good starting point for reference on Xiongnu tribes ^.^
