Monolith is a molecular visualization system created within the virtual world known as "Second Life". Monolith allows for structures, DNA and/or proteins, to be loaded directly from the Rutgers Protein Data Bank. Structures are rapidly created and allow the user to interactively manipulate visual elements of the model enabling the user to visualize points-of-interests. This video shows a DNA being loaded into Second Life and it's appearance manipulated in a variety of ways. Second Life allows up to 100 people all in different locations all over the world to see the same structure at the same time thus demonstrating and example of collaborative molecular/data visualization. http://www.ebremer.com/monolith
