@yazyh Parents have to teach their children to pray, no doubt, but after the children are older, it's their own responsibility. Faith has to come from the heart, if someone prays because he or she is forced, then the prayer isn't from the heart and no sawab. I've read the angels throw back your prayer at you if you don't do it properly, because such prayers won't be accepted. Children also have their own responsibility once they reach a certain age.

@yazyh Once they're adults, the parents have no control over them. At some point, the responsibility belongs to the children. I think the father is a very wise man. Following God's commandments should be out of true faith, not because you were given orders by your parents. Also, I can see why the father chose Reda to take him on the Hajj. He knew that Reda would carry on the faith and the traditions.
