  • I hear the viola is a huge 17"...that's what she said...

  • who's SHE??

  • If I am not greatly mistaken, the members of this quartet play with Stradivari instruments (The famous 4 instruments N.Paganini had in his own private collection)

  • exactly!!the whole quartet uses stradivari instruments!!i had the chance to listen to them (live) and the sound was really amazing!!!bye

  • Tokyo quartet is my favorite and the best in the world <3

  • I own the complete Beethoven Late Quartets by them. Whatever you do, acquire it. They make a magnificent sound. Their playing is equal to the summit of western civilization that describes the quartets. You can't listen to Bartok or Shostakovich without hearing Beethoven's LQs, which he said were written for a future civilization(I still don't think it's arrived).

It is the recording quality. Just heard this on my car radio, and it was AMAZING! Hadn't heard a Razumovsky in way too long. And the Tokyo is just extraordinary. This transmission only gives you a hint of how good they are. Like your car radio is going out of a broadcast area.

  • @cyvue my conductor at camp plays a 19 inch viola :)

  • @cobaltjones Yes, I found that CD set in the local library, Wow they make a terrific noise don't they!! Apparently, Schubert upon hearing this said something like "after this, what is there left to write?" Something tells me he was right.

  • Best fucking stumble ever! Jesus christ this is amazing!

  • like a huge wave flooding to me !

  • sapevo che l'avresti pubblicato tu!!!!

  • Brilliant!!!
