This year, the autumn leaves in the Philadelphia area were the most brightly-colored I've seen in a long time, perhaps the most brightly-colored ever. This is noticeable, at least to me, in this video (even in the non-high-quality version that plays as the default).

What is a wire train?
chefjavier 3 years ago
The wire train is used to maintain the catenary and support structures of electrified railroads. It has a spool flat car that holds the spools of wire, sometimes a gondola for the old wire and other scrap, a flat car with elevated platforms to access the catenary and a camp car for the workers. Since you can't work with the power on, the wire is de-energized and the train is pulled by one or two diesels.

But why is there an arrow II on the train?
trainboy38 2 years ago
SEPTA bought two Arrow II's from NJT as camp cars for the wire trains (one for the current train based out of Wayne Electric on the RDG side and the other for a future second wire train to be based on the PRR side).

Is it me or do all 3 of the SEPTA Switchers always die.

During the first week of November, 51 was on the wire train, it died and they replaced it with 50. The next day 50 died and they replaced it with 52. The next day 52 died but came back to life. They put 60 on it for a couple days but now 51 is back.
