  • Tanzanian chapati originated from India years and years ago. Asian or and Persian countries were trading with East Africa way before the british came to East Africa. Asian traders introduced spices and some recipes from their countries. Tanzanians prepared the recipes a little bit different and add the African taste to it. Then we called it our own. A few of recipes we borrowed from Asia are, biriani, chapati, pilau, halwa etc. Some of this recipes differ so much from the original Asian recipes.

  • this is very cheap start with the dough this is paratha dont confuse people

  • This is not chapati. Usually chapati is made from finely ground whole wheat flour called atta. And chapati is usually thin.

  • thats sucks

  • for the sake of not confusing people, yes it is basically a chappati but when buttered/oiled we call it paratha, just as one calls bread a toast after it's been browned. try using light brown flour instead. much healthier than white : )

  • kkk how did you make the dough? or just showing us a paratha from the food store.

  • and by the way paratha is too not made soo thick unless yeast is used.. some people like yeast in paratha but most dont...

  • this isnt chapate.. this is parathaa..
