  • @bolexcollector huh, i guess i got a good find then :P

  • @wolfeman323232 Yeah, the first time you do it, it helps to have a spare to work on so you don't have to worry about messing things up. Check out bolexrepair (dot) com. They specialize in these types of cameras, and I've heard they do good work. For the model of camera you have, it's a good investment. (The P3 was the top of the line model of that series, and they're a bit harder to find than the P1 and P2)

  • wow very cheap i love it why so cheap

  • @bolexcollector thank you! il probably go and get it serviced somewhere if possible, id rather do that than run the chances of taking it apart and ruining it

  • @wolfeman323232 Use Nyoil (that's the brand name) or any type of sewing machine or clock/watch oil for the gears. Check out the tutorial video here on youtube on oiling these types of cameras (Just search for "oiling a Bolex" or look at my favorites.. seems like I can't post the actual link in a reply.)

If the leather on the outside of your camera looks a little dry or dirty, use Lexol leather cleaner. Hope that helps.

  • @bolexcollector thanks man! im wondering, do you know about how to clean them? and what to do if they start rolling slower?

  • Nice vid. That's a great deal for a P3. Congrats! If you haven't found a source for double 8mm film stock yet, just google "John Schwind" to find his "internationalfilm" site. He sells color and B/W reversal on 25' spools for cameras like these. I really like the P1/P2/P3 series; they're a great value and work well for animation, too. Have fun with your new camera and good luck on your film project!

  • @FilmFanPete thanks man! it really was a good steal
