Dr. Daphne Miller - Chapter 11 - Partners Outdoors

Dr. Daphne Miller, professor at University of California San Francisco, speaks about the health benefits of people recreating in the outdoors. Partners Outdoors 2010 was held January 10-13, 2010 at Cavallo Point - The Lodge at the Golden Gate. The theme of the conference was "Connecting People and Parks - to Keep Both Healthy." Guest speakers included Mickey Fearn, Deputy Director of the National Park Service, Frank Dean, superintendent of Golden Gate National Recreation Area, Greg Moore, Executive Director of Golden Gate Conservancy, Sam Solomon, President and CEO of Coleman Company and Kevin Kelly, President of Delaware North Companies Parks & Resorts. Derrick Crandall of American Recreation Coalition moderated the conference. Here, panelists Mickey, Kevin and Sam discuss their top ten priorities for connecting people with the outdoors.

Participants included leaders in public, private and non-profit organizations. Partners Outdoors 2010 adressed opportunities to make recreation opportunities better known and better understood for the benefits they deliver.
