Can you guess believe he went through his recording career with 1 take. As in every time he recorded something new it he only need to do it once. He never need more than that to get the job done that's beast!!

One time a lady asked him:" mr Garner how is it possible that you can play like this without being able to read notes", he answered: "Ma'm nobody comes to listen to me to hear me read notes...on another occasion he said: "once you've seen one note you've seen them all.. "

I am in awe. I've come late to Erroll Garner and I am just blown away by this incredible talent. How is it possible to be so at one with the instrument that you need never look at it. And that face is just so kind and warm. Lovely, just magically lovely and life enriching.

I was given an Errol Garner record when i was a kid, and i remember how warm and alive it sounded, i still have it to this day and im so glad i heard it cos i got hooked on him! his playing is in a style all of its own, truly amazing and makes me smile every time!

When I first heard of Erroll Garner was 2 years ago as I was watching Classic Arts Showcase. I'm not sure which video was aired at that the time, but Mr. Garner's style got my attention. I'm just learning about jazz greats. I'm 38 and starting to appreciate classic works from the greats.
