@Hades378 aw i'm not bashing kittan man, i love the guy. Just, in my opinion, Kamina had a better death. But i'm a Kamina fanboy, so i'm biased.
And yeah that is what matters, in-universe. But they never actually saved billions of lives, so we're free to debate which one was better XD

@urahararocking Not to flame you or anything man but your comment sounds like your bashing Kittan. I think they both died equally heroic. The situation may have been diffrent but their sacrifice saved the lives of billions, and isn't that what really matters?

@darthsketch I couldn't agree more. Truly, this was a rare anime.. So few anime are ever this epic, or this inspirational, or even this moving.
This is going to sound silly, but after this anime, I actually stopped being a lazy ass and started taking care of myself more, and taking control of my life back rather than leaving it on auto-pilot. Honestly, watching this anime was probably one of the best things to ever happen to me...

I disagree, while you're correct that Kittan went to his death willingly, Kamina did something better:
After he was EXPLODED THEN STABBED, he stood back up. He never sat there and let Simon get killed just 'cuz he had a small cause of IMPENDING AND PAINFUL DEATH, he got back up and invented one of the coolest anime moves in history. "Can't a guy get any sleep around here," he says while smiling. He had no time to prepare for death, like Kittan, but that didn't stop him from smiling at it.
