A big snake - copperhead (copperheaded to be exact) racer - similar to the western yellow rat snake at about 2 meters long, in Thailand crossing the highway. It comes for me at the end of the video! Great snake. These are very active striking snakes - they can strike MANY times before they become tired.. They are non-venomous, non poisonous. They eat frogs, mice, rats, lizards, birds.

These can probably be called the favorite food of the world's largest venomous snake - King Cobras. Where you find these Copper Headed Racers you find the King Cobras!

I'll have to catch the next one I see so I can get some video of it striking - they're really acrobatic strikers too - launching themselves at you. Coelognathus radiatus.

  • That is a Copperhead Racer, although non venomous, but very aggressive as can be seen in this video! Quite a very beautiful snake though...

  • My first trip to thailand there was a huge snake crossing the road and our driver didnt see it in time. It was stretched across the entire lane and we ran it over.. our driver felt sad about it. We think it was a cobra but we didnt stop to see.
