AT&T executives spoke with Texas and Louisiana Public Access Providers in January 2007 about AT&T U-Verse plans for PEG channels. Public Access Producers, concerned about the possible loss of public access, asked questions about their service or lack of service offerings (PEG is not offered on U-verse at this time). Part 1 of 5.

  • I wondering why Time Warner requires Digital Cable to view only the public access channel but not CTSA (catholic television) They can be sued under the 1st admendments establisment clause. Why do they give Catholic Television preferential treatment while public access includes Islam, and even there is a show for Athiests in Austin, where? on public access.

  • Funny...I'm a sales agent for U-Verse.

  • They are in the process of being sued now.

  • i sell that shit.... i sell that shit... 1-866-671-7993... hahaha

  • How does AT&T's Uverse get around the revised communications act of 1934 (overhauled in '96)

Each cable operator of a cable system shall provide its subscribers a separately available basic service tier to which subscription is required for access to any other tier of service. Such basic service tier shall, at a minimum, consist of the following:

ii. Any public, educational, and governmental

access programming required by the franchise of the cable system to be provided to subscribers.

  • oh I forgot to add this Did you know that Time Warner cable in San Antonio does not offer it's basic cable subscribers public access (was on channel 20) You have to have digital cable with the converter box to receive it, but they still charge you tax for the channel (franchise fee) Report Time Warner Cable San Antonio to the FCC and your elected officals.

  • As long as I am not paying the franchise fee, or a municpal tax for it I am all for it. If it costs me more for it NO WAY JOSE!
