  • Man, does that make me miss my 1980 Le Car! The only car I've ever driven that more fun or more reliable is my '94 Nissan truck. I miss that old pile o' froggy scrap metal!

  • When I was in the sixth grade, I swore I would buy a Le Car when I was old enough to drive. Instead, I bought a Dodge Shadow!

  • They did use the Renault 5 name for the first year (1976) in the US, but sales were pretty sluggish, so they came up with the "Le Car" name instead.

  • I owned two... a'79 two door and an '81 four door. Drove the hell out of both of them.

    I had a 1983... the engine..never gave up..

The heating..died..and the parts..were available.. Smooth ride..accruate steering and a good feel for the road.. I drove this in 1988.. had over 300,000 klm.. on this.. Fun car.. a death car today standards..but a great university car..!
