Here is a 9,999,999+ No Miss 1 Credit Completion on Virtua Cop 1, where I break the maximum score on the original release of the game.
NO MISS means that I didn't get hit, or I didn't shoot a hostage throughout the whole game. (it doesn't mean that I hit every single enemy)

Virtua Cop is a Lightgun game released by SEGA-AM2 in 1994, it was made before Time Crisis.
Virtua Cop was one of the first Lightgun games to use 3D Polygon graphics, and added an interesting scoring system.
The big challenge in this game is to break the score counter (this is called Counterstopping) which originally only went to 9,999,999. This was achievable if you increased the multiplier up as quickly as possible, then doing Justice Shots (also called Nice Bullseye) on as many enemies as possible. The multiplier drops by 2X on every life lost.
The game has a high difficulty rating, and some enemies shoot just as they appear on the screen. At times I delay the shooting of enemies so I don't Miss. The game shoves hostages in your face, and has some enemies holding hostages on the final stage.
Also there are enemies who shoot quickly, when fancy looking things are happening, to distract the player. Of course these things are far from graphically impressive now.
The game was released on the Sega Saturn, and had a SEGA AGES like graphical update in 2002. This time the graphics have been upscaled, instead of downscaled, and somewhat updated.
Geez how well do you have to play to get Rank 1?

@BradRy2 it uses the Rank system from Virtua Cop 2, and there are less enemies in VC1, and the chance of getting Justice Shots is less in VC1
