THE BIG VALLEY T V WESTERN SERIES RAN FROM 1965-1969.

AS A KID I LOVED THIS SERIES BESIDES WHICH I HAD A CRUSH ON LEE MAJORS WHO PLAYED HEATH BARKLEY

AS A KID AGED BETWEEN 8 & 12 YEARS OF AGE,WHEN THE SERIES WAS FIRST SHOWN.I THOUGHT LEE MAJORS WAS SOME FAIR-HAIRED BLUE-EYED 'GREEK GOD'.

THE MUSIC I'VE CHOSEN TO GO WITH THIS VIDEO IS 'RIDE FOREVER' BY PAUL GROSS.IT WAS THE ONLY SORT OF C&W SONG I HAVE, BESIDES WHICH I THINK IT IS A GREAT SONG AND I LIKE IT.

THANK U KINDLY

  • Who didn't like Nick Barkely or Gus (in Lonesome Dove)?? I'll always remember those Great Years of my youth in Libreville, Gabon...thanks to youtube and all the members...and specially, @readhotmountie for this vdo!!!!

  • @stareyes1326 Thank u for your kind comments and it would seem that we both had a crush on Lee Majors whilst growing up obviously a case of 'Great minds think a like and good taste'

  • It was a fabulous programme...thanks for taking the time to put this together. 74,808 viewers can't be wrong!

  • The Big Valley was the most charming TV show of it's time in every way...

Jarrod was my favorite. cool-headed,intelligent and suave. The great thing was though, all the characters were so likable.Victoria, Heath, Nick and even Audra up to a point. The plots weren't overused and corny, either.

  • I have always loved the Big Valley. I remember watching as a kid. I would switch from Heath being my favorite to Nick being my favorite. I loved Nick because he would take on the world in a fight,it did not matter if he was out numbered. Heath was just down right handsome. This was the family everyone wanted, a strong mother who could shoot. I dont believe anyone was as rich as the Stockton Barkleys.

  • @Dennyee Interesting comment. You make a good point. I think in 1870's America people were not that physically affectionate with each other. Much more distant and reserved than our touchy feely world of today. Thanks for sharing your perceptive comment.

  • @redhotmountie Thank you so very much for this beautiful tribute to a legendary western. Lee Majors was a real, real good looking guy. I can understand anybody having a crush on him. He took his shirt off a lot on the show. He had a fantastic physique matched with an incredibly handsome face. No doubt, the best looking man on television. Nobody else is even close.

  • we ALL had a crush on lee majors in this series, i watched it in reruns just to catch glimpses of the young pre accident lee majors, i loved his nose/nostrils

  • I loved this show too. One of the best on TV with one exception. I thought the characters were too overly physically effectionate with one another…just too touchy touchy for a family…kinda creepy to me…almost on the verge of looking incestuous.

  • @republicansrule You got that right and Jon Derek was married to Ursula Andress, Linda Evans and Bo Derek at separate times - lucky man.

  • Big Valley and Paul Gross...you can't get any better than that! I had a thing for Richard Long myself, but none of those Barkley boys were hard to look at.
