"Dark End of the Street" - Lyrics -

At the dark end of the street
That's where we always meet
Hiding in shadows where we don't belong
Living in darkness to hide our wrong
You and me, at the dark end of the street
Just you and me

I know that time is gonna take its toll
We're gonna pay for the love that we stole
Ah it's a sin and we know that it's wrong
Ah but our love keeps coming on strong
You and me, at the dark end of the street
Just you and me

They're gonna find us
They're gonna find us
They're gonna find us someday
We'll steal away to the dark end of the street
Just you and me

If you take a walk downtown
And you find some time to look around
If you should see me and I walk on by
Oh darling please don't cry
Tonight we'll meet
At the dark end of the street
Just you and me
Oh you and me
Oh darling, you and me

  • Questa versione è molto bella

  • @mwrobb Because Jann Wenner has something against her. The RnR HOF is a joke.

  • @runamuck74 Linda Ronstadt was older with much more experience than Eva Cassidy. Their voices? Each has her on style and are probably close in absolute ability. I wouldn't want to have to pick because it would be an impossible task. I guess the best a person can do is listen to each style & make up their minds up who's their favorite. In no way is each second to the other just different. If Eva C. had lived and performed as long as L.R. a better judgement might be found.

  • thank you for posting this. I too bought this album when it came out. My ideal woman and had the poster that came with the album on my wall for many years.

  • with the late eva cassidy coming in a very close second...

  • This is my favorite Linda Ronstadt song. I bought this album in '74 for "You're no good," but this should have been the real hit from the album.

  • perfectly awesome for the woman that is noted for putting the EAGLE s band togethether ---per glen fry! GOOOOO LINDA!

  • phenomenal piece of work! love it.
