If you lived in a concrete dome home you reduce your chance of getting struck by lightening in your home. The domes have been struck but the charge went to ground thanks to the rebar in bedded in the concrete. No damage was done to the appliances in the home.

I thought it was safer to be in an open space, away from tree's etc.
