  • i bet the ink cost more than the machine, i can heat press 10 shirts in less time than it took to run that ink on that shirt....not a smart investment

  • We have many customers running a profitable business with these printers. It results in a much better "feel" on a garment than a heat transfer.

    But, to each his own....

  • I love the way this printer prints. But i think people don't know that it is not cheap and you would have to work this printer 8 hours a day for many months just to get your money back. This is what kills it. the cost of the printer.

  • It is not expensive for an industrial grade machine. This uses industrial printheads and can not be compared to inexpensive printers.

It is made to run "all day, every day". Thats the idea of going into business..... use it every day. Otherwise, you shouldn't be in the business.

  • so in order to print on black shirts you need a seperate machine?

  • not separate machine, but a whole other model. The GT-782. It has white ink printing capability and has two platens (print 2 shirts at same time)

Hi, so why not just buy the GT-782. Wouldn't it be good for black and white shirts?

    mc

  • That's really cool an' all... but they cost £10,000! (About $16,000 US) so would be quite an investment even for a well-funded starting company.

  • I have 6 shirt designs that a company will be be ordering 2,000 shirts from me. This and 2 other companies will be the only business I will be working with. I will come out with new designs of 6 per season. Do you think I should look for a less expensive machine for this amount of orders?

  • @teachersscatf I was doing heat press for a while. It's only good for letters. Otherwise it's not the best quality. I've heard really good things about these brother printers and if you really think about the screen printing process doesn't go much faster then this so i can't be that bad of an investment. I know a guy who uses a different brand and his whole business runs on only these type of printers. He makes lots of money.

  • can it be cured under the heat of the sun?

  • what temperature does the heat transfer have to set at to cure the paint?
