UPDATE: Problem fixed by unchecking Low Light Boost. Now I just need better light when I record.

This is a sample video of the problems I have with my Logitech Communicate STX webcam. Drivers are updated. Q6600 Core 2 Quad, Nvidia 8600 GT video card, 2 Gb RAM, HP-made computer.

Any ideas on what to do to make the video smoother and synch the audio?

  • I was thinking of buying one of these, but maybe I won't now. Could the problem be that the frame rate is slowing down to accommodate for the low lighting? I notice your video has a black background and that might be throwing off the 'light meter'. Maybe try turning on more lights, putting a white background behind you?

  • Got it fixed. There is a "Low Light" Setting that was on, messing up the framerate.

  • Hey dude.

I have the same problem with my webcam. But its not the low light that is causing it. Was your frame rate slow "as" you recorded your video? Mine wasnt slow as i was recording my videos. It was slow hen i went to look back on them hen they have saved. So i dono how to fix this, would you have any suggestions on hy this could be or anyone else know? I cant upload video cause of this, its so annoying..

    Cheers,

  • diggin in ur ears, lol sexy

  • I just hooked up an old sxt cam that I had laying around and you are right.. they suck! I also contacted logitech and got the it must be your computer response..

    I am running:

AMD Phenom II X4 3.4 GHz quad core cpu

    4 GB DDR2 1066 MHz ram

    Nvidia 9600 GT video card

Why don't they just admit it's a crappy camera that they made?

  • Turn off RightLight (1+2) down 3 steps. This will stop the sucky framerate.

  • ...Lol. I kind of figured out that "Low Light" slows down your frate rate, but fixes your lighting within the first day of getting my webcam. Then again, it kind of sucks so I was immedietly at the settings as soon as I got it.
