This is a hack I put together. It is generated by an AT90S2313 (aka ATtiny2313) and a 74HC166 shift register. Below are links to the source code and schematic.

The dot moving across the screen is controlled by a very precisely set Timer1, which gets its clock source from the load strobe connected to the shift register. The movement is much more fluid on a real television.

  • @kiyotewolf They sure are, I used the same technique. It was used on the IBM CGA adapter too. DOSbox can emulate it.

    I am working on making "Apple Clone" games, which use CGA ~ DOSBOX to re-create the exact colors (not same resolution, but close) so I can make my old games over again today.
