No, the original is an mpeg4 (mp4) recorded at a resolution of 320 x 240 then converted to AVI then to FLV for YouTube. The Vmate is capable of recording at a much higher resolution than the pencil camera I was using. When viewed at 320 x 240 on your computer screen, it's very clear, however, when you resize it to fit your computer monitor, it will appear grainy naturally.
