@911caddy The ones under the Super Chief look like air powered Grovers to me... the ones under the bell are electric though.

Great sound and to think B & M is still in business making more "Super Chief's".
-
Um yeah, Wikipedia calls it "aerial application" or "aerial topdressing". Involves a lot of high-risk, low level flight in small planes or choppers...
-
Yeah, that's the one.. Second one in the past year or so.
Crop dusting? Interesting..

Oh I read about that, the older gent in a homebuilt craft, right? The smaller the aircraft, the more dangerous, is the way it usually goes. :(
Canada's rugged terrain demands more than its share of floatplanes and helis etc. NZ's mountainous South Island is very similar to BC, but here in the mildly hilly North its crop dusting that claims pilots' lives.

thekiwicanuck, Headed down island close to home! Whew! Darn seniority issues.. It can take some time to finally make it "home". I've been commuting for fours years (like the majority of my fellow Medics).
Actually, the CFD dayshift FF'ers went to two MVA's and a small plane crash the day this was filmed. No fires though :(
Get a clip of those Grovers! I know those are extremely loud, but they sound so awesome!

@Thewoog34 . Those horns are electric..They don't sound that great.. There is a recent clip of this Engine responding with them. And an older one..
I'll let you search for them :)

Should put a guard on the q a little kid could put his finger in there

It's not a Federal Q! It's a B&M Super Chief. The Super chief comes standard with finger guards?? Pause the video at the 58 second mark and have a look. There are four metal "wires" for lack of a better word that encircle the stator ports.
I guess a very small child could possibly still stick his finger in there. That would come down to poor parenting or poor observation of a station visit if the siren was sounded for some visiting children.
