How tall was Troyanos?
-

What a tragedy was Troyanos's early death! This happens to be my favorite scene in the entire opera.

Watch the conductor... he sings with the singers -- what a perfection!!!

Fantastic........

What a fantastic singer she was!

Tatiana Troyanos was a tremendous dramatic mezzo. Placido has a large enough tenor voice to match her note for note. James Levine is one of the best opera conductors around. What a performance, full of drama and musicality presented by two of the best operatic voices ever to take the stage.

Troyanos was always one of the very best, most talented and tasteful singers ever, and the most underrated. She sang EVERYTHING with appropriate style, beautiful tone, and absolute commitment, sensitivity, and intelligence, whether Mahler, Handel, the Italian repertoire, Mozart, Strauss, etc. I think she is one of the most versatile performers ever.
