@thetrooper42 Yeah? Glassman offers this hierarchy of effective mass-gaining strategies, ranked from most to least effective:
1.) Bodybuilding on Steroids
2.) CrossFitting on Steroids
3.) CrossFitting without Steroids
4.) Bodybuilding without Steroids
This is taken directly from CrossFit's main FAQ page.
In what world does proper CrossFit beat proper bodybuilding in muscle development in ANY context? Explain this BS.

on an all protein diet, nothing but protein all day... Yet at the start of the video asks for milk, then later mentions he had bread with his milk.. milk has carbs you dumbass

@thetrooper42 And I hate that I'm starting to sound like a broken record, but for the 4th time: I don't have CrossFitters; just the ideology.
-
@thetrooper42 /Thread is not some mystical power that shuts the other side up. After reviewing the exchange, this is what I've found: Me: CF makes men small & weak You: Rich Froning isn't small & weak Me: Rebuttal You: New point, no response to rebuttal Me: New rebuttal, restatement of previous rebuttal You: New point, ad hominem, no response to rebuttal Repeat ad nausiem. So where in there were you actually agreeing that CF doesn't build big strong men from the ground up?
-
@BrianKGarver Do you not realize I agreed with you a long time ago? Crossfit isn't the best way to get huge muscles. I simply said don't be a dick and insult the people who do it. And I'm not going to explain a quote from someone else that makes no damn sense. I didn't say it, I don't have to defend it. /Thread.

@BrianKGarver No one said that strictly Crossfit gets you the size of Froning. All I'm saying is "makes men small and weak" is insulting it makes alot of people healthy and confident no need to insult anyone. I'm a fan of fitness in any form. Some things I feel work better than others and some programs I feel are more useful. But I never insult any type of fitness or the results one gets from it.

@thetrooper42 Still didn't respond to original point.
Where in my post did I say that strict form was superior to kipping form in anything other than muscle & strength building? In fact, all I did was make the distinction of which version of chinups I WASN'T talking about. I'm well aware that kipping chinups to chinups is like push press to standing OHP.
And, for the 3rd time, I don't have CF'ers; just the ideology.
Care to either address my original point or retract the objection?
-
@BrianKGarver Why the hate on kipping pull ups? "They aren't real pull ups" that's like comparing a sprint and marathon. Same movement but a different technique for different results. Kipping pull ups are better when used in circuit because they jack your heart rate up. And strict pull ups are better for building muscle and strength. I personally do both kipping (In a WOD like Cindy) and weighted pull ups for two different reasons. Just be happy people are exercising at all even if kipping.
-
@thetrooper42 That didn't address what I said about CF athletes of substantial size and strength having been built traditionally, first, and not purely by CF. Again, I don't hate CF'ers; just the ideology.
Biceps curls? Though good for accessory work to mainlifts, they are inferior to chinups, which have been demonstrated to offer greater peak contraction to the biceps, thus stimulating more growth in size & strength. And I mean real chinups, btw. Not those gay kipping ones CF prescribes.

@thetrooper42 I don't hate CrossFitters. I hate the CrossFit ideology. It's nothing more than circuit training re-packaged and re-marketed. Circuit training has been around a lot longer than 1995 (the year the first CF gym opened).
The mentality is that CF is some sort of fix-all/cure-all approach to physical fitness. A real athlete understands that while a CF prescribed workout every now and then could be a great addition to an existing regiment, to do CF and CF is retarded and myopic.
iMeth732, If you were bright enough to undestand the video humor you would realize that this video is poking fun at people who do not like crossfit. But I'm sure you got that.
