Ignore the background music...

That one particular corner is the only way I can get my laptop's screen to work. If I let go, it does this whole whiteout/washout then blackness deal. So, any ideas on what the problem is before I have to spend over $100 to buy a new screen?
I'm not that willing to spend more for a whole new laptop and have to transfer everything over.

The whole deal started with just having to readjust the screen's angle but it got worse over the course of a few months to this. My husband had opened it up to clean the inside of it out of dust before sending it to me by mail. I think it got jostled through that. An external monitor works fine with it but I can't lug around my old monitor wherever I go, obviously.

So, if anyone out there has any ideas to what I can do to fix this, I'd really appreciate them! I have a low budget and limited tools. (plus I need to figure out a way to 'ground' myself since I tend to zap things easily)

  • He really shouldn't have opened it up. Now that the LCD and warranty are both gone, it seems your in quite the situation.

  • The warranty was long expired, it's almost four years old.

  • You're boned. You'll have to buy a completely new laptop or the EXACT same A105 screen, which is really tough with all the new technology these days.

  • @elvencrystaline Dude u r in the same situation as me i opened it up too i had to press on the side to keep it working it does the exact same thing as mine... well saving up for Mac Book Pro now going to partition it with Win 7 but yeah the same thing happened and ive had it for 4-5 years hah

  • I think it's simply done for. You don't really "fix" an LCD, you buy a new one.
