  • Liked! Absolutely love it! Please film a part 2 and make this into a series!

PS. What kind of camera/video editing software did you guys use? Did you guys use an additional microphone?

  • @Joe22c Hi Joe, We shot this on a Canon 7D and edited in Premiere pro CS4, transcoding to cineform as an intermediate. A lot of the audio (the pearls hitting the briefcase, the letter sliding under the door) was actually just recorded using the camera's internal microphone. The dialog was all recorded with a Rode Videomic on a broom pole (nope, I didn't mean to say boom pole, I really mean that we bolted it to a broom handle). If you liked the film, tell your friends! We need those "Like"s!

    Hey,

Thanks for the details. A Canon 7D. Yikes! That is one massive investment. It looks really sweet though. I can't believe it has such a good internal microphone. I wish I didn't get such a low end piece of hardware myself (Sony DCR-SR46). I can't even attach an external microphone, apparently. I am considering a digital audio recorder to record audio separately though since my videos are primarily oriented towards music.

I will defs share this on FB. :-)

  • @Joe22c the 7D was the first Canon SLR that had a decent video mode which was anywhere near my price range, so I picked it up when it came out, but these days there are much less expensive options. Check out the T3i, or even look around for a used/refurbished T2i. EXACTLY the same video capabilities as the 7D, in a much less expensive package. A digital audio recorder is still a good idea though; dual system sound is always better. Check out PluralEyes to make syncing easy.

  • I thought I was watching a good action Hollywood flic for a moment there. well done!

  • @jbenetvideo Thank you, that's definitely the vibe we were going for... a little bit of Jason Bourne :-D
