These guys make several factual errors with the 007 trivia....

Man, is this guy Eric Cohen is a pompous ass. I love how he picks his nails, looks at them and nonchalantly answers questions, like he can't be bothered with answering stuff these other idiots don't know.

@cinefiles "You dissapoint me. You're nothing but a policeman" Also Q IS Major Boothroyd, in fact Anya Amasova calls him that in THE SPY WHO LOVED ME. It's in a scene after they meet and her and Bond have been working together. GOLDFINGER is the favorite among the average person and not the Bond fans, but it is still considered good among the Bond fans. True Bond fans like a deeper story and less camp and comedy, I would imagine.

@cinefiles Alexei Kronsteen is the chess master in FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE. Rosa Klebb even says she's going to tell the girl she is still working for SMERSH to keep the ruse going, but it is definitely SPECTRE. In fact, Dr. No even lets Bond in on what SPECTRE is all about in that famous table confrontation. And why didn't you mention Pedro Armendariz as Kerim Bey, who was also a great and memorable performance.

@cinefiles it does have the title in "like heaven above me, the spy who loved me is keeping all my secrets safe tonight"

You Only Live Twice is real boring.
-
@cinefiles Yes, Never Say Never Again is better.

north by northwest came out in 1959. not 1957.

How funny is it that they use Quarrel 2 times in the books in proper order but when they use Quarrel in Live and Let Die his name is Quarrel jr...sooo cheezy! BTW Honey Rider in Dr. No was supposed to be kind of dumb and innocent if you read the book (hell she even mentions it in the movie) she is a lil island girl that didn't go to school but read Encyclopedias for her knowledge.

I love Largo in Thunderball. I do not get why he is considered a weak villian.

The Double O only means he has a license to kill at his discretion. Having this doesn't mean that he is a "secret agent"
Oh, but I do agree with you about Tom Jones' theme song. It wasn't even supposed to be the song for the film (the DVD allows you to watch the opening titles to the real song that was supposed to open the film: "Mr. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang" by Dionne Warwick).

I just think the film suffers because of it. It's too bad they had to work the title of the movie into the song. I believe Nobody Does It Better from Spy Who Loved Me was the first song in the series not to have the title in the song.

I wish I was there to discuss with you guys(and OHMSS is also my favorite). Klaus Maria might have been a better villain than Adolfo Celi (and Max Von Sydow is a great Blofeld as well) but everything else is so off and it's not just the lack of the Bond theme. The entire movie to me feels like it was written by 12-year old Bond fans. The character of Fatima Blush especially is a 12-year old's view of a Bond villain, her eeeevil laughter, snakes, needles, etc...

I can't help it. I was honest, it was the first Bond film I saw in the theatre and it's a hell of a lot better than Moonraker.
