  • I bet these were quality made cars. they could have competed against the Lexus coupe, mercedes and BMW

One of the sedans had a top speed of 140 MPH. That could have competed against a Mercedes , Lexus or a BMW and it ws AMERICAN

  • The 1964 Studebaker line, was the best of all Studebaker lines, but several administration conspiracies, took the company out of business, what a terrible loss.

  • God - I loved this car! Mine was white with a sun roof and was gorgeous but ran too damn hot! Fine during the winter - never needed to turn on the heat! In summer though - melted sneakers stuck to the floorboards. Jumped from zero to sixty if you even LOOKED at the gas pedal.

  • The music sounds like the soundtrack from Peter Gunn. Ah, those were the days when America knew what the hell it was trying to do.

  • A beauitful car!! Way ahead of it's time!

  • the music is the shiz-nit!!!!

  • Tom Kellogg appears to have been the driving influence behind the original Avanti design. Loewy was a talented designer, but he also recognized the talents of his employees. He took credit for a lot of other people's work, including the 1947 Studes that Virgil Exner designed and Loewy loathed until they proved popular. Of course, in early 1946, even Crosleys were selling as fast as they could be built. It was a seller's market. In 1950-51, the bullet-nose Loewy favored sold very well, too.

  • I owned a '63, '64, and 1980 Altman Avanti II. Each one was a blast!
