  • CT's version of this super song is good, but... He was highly capable of doing a more-powerful version. Regardless, it is still very good, and I like it. LG

  • I'm glad you do!

    Thanks for stopping by!

    Take care.

  • This was maybe not a million seller , but as good as LVD .

Mr. Twitty had a beautiful voice , and knews how to use.

Nice according old fashion pictures.Thank you, i'll be waiting on the corner.

    Chris.

  • Without the bass-singer it would only be a pale copy of Leroy's song!

I'm glad you're hopping up and down again spitting your words out on the channels!!!

Welcome back my enying friend!!! Haa haa,I hope you can take a joke???

    Have a great time Chris!

  • @oldolds53

With all my respect to LVD who brought this as a country song.

Forget the bass singer and also the cute female backing on " Wait on the corner" , forget even the instruments , and there's only left over a crystal clear voice, sensitive and vibrating .Do the same with LVD and THEN you'll have a PALE copy.

Of course it's Leroy's song , and it was the biggest country single of all time, but here we're talking about R&R. and Mr. H.L.Jenkins' version is MOVING as R&R has to be.!!!

  • Okay Chris, maybe my words won't be choosed so well,I vcan't do anything else but agree with you my master,I bow my head in shame for turning around so quickly!!

But you must agree that the bass-voice add someting extra to this version??

Thanks for your lesson ,and take care my friend!!!

  • Actually , I think Robert Gordon made the best cover of this song ! :D

  • Nice but I prefer the LVD and Charley Pride versions.

  • Catchy Very!!

  • Have to walk on by again . Love it so much.

  • I don't know how I mistressed one!

    Thank you.

Of course you're right about the bass voice .Just these details makes a song more attractive ( think of the details Lady's use often , at least in the past..) and a PomPomPom voice wouldn't fit very well in a country version,i suppose.

Notice also the small touch of girl backings ( Wait on the corner) .

I think it was typically for that era and that kind of R&R , to add these funny details.

His Masters Voice.( but not always).
