"Recording artist West Diamond was born in Ghana, West Africa in 1984. In search of a better life, his family migrated to Toronto, Canada when he was only two years old. With an eclectic taste for music, he became a fan of many juxtaposing genres at a young age, and innately felt that music would play a critical role in his life. 'Music is the magnet to his compass'. West wrote and performed his first rap song at the age of 11 for a class project. Although it was a small crowd, West won his classmates over while discovering a new sense of confidence in his music. West began spending time freestyling with fellow classmates, forming the Real Rap Society, a club for aspiring rappers. Poetry and other forms of writing were introduced to West during junior high, and stayed with him through high school, and during his future artistic pursuits. West Diamond began his official career as a recording artist in September of 2007, when he was introduced to co-CEOs of Bascrom Entertainment, Kiri and Kite. The three entrepreneurs immediately formed a bond based on their mutual drive and passion for the music production process. After recording and releasing their first independent single mere days after meeting, the newly revamped Bascrom Entertainment quickly received a local following with their Hip-Hop/ Reggae infused sounds. West's body of work now includes performances on albums by Casper the Ghost, Killa Klyne, and Paper Chasers, among other talented upcoming London artists. In 2008, West Diamond was featured in a local documentary film entitled "Meet the Streets: Forest City Edition".
