In this video, Betty demonstrates how to make a delicious *fat free* Dill Weed Dip. Since the dip uses seasonings and 2 herbs, Betty gives viewers a tour of her herb garden. There have been a lot of requests for low-calorie food lately, so I hope you enjoy this healthy dip--and the tour!!!

Ingredients:

2/3 cup sour cream (I used fat-free.)
2/3 cup mayonnaise (I used fat-free.)
1 teaspoon minced onion
1 teaspoon fresh minced parsley or dried parsley flakes
1 teaspoon fresh minced dill weed or dried dill weed
1 teaspon beaumonde seasoning
party rye bread slices or fresh vegetables, prepared for dipping

Mix all ingredients and chill at least an hour. To serve, let guests spread the dip on party rye bread or dip fresh, prepared vegetables into it. It's fat-free, healthy, and the taste is superb! This dip lets you enjoy letting go of those calories!!!

  • Thank you! I grew up on a farm, so I used to grow all of my vegetables and herbs. Now it's just herbs--and a tomato plant that has given us hundreds of cherry tomatoes this summer! Thanks for your nice comment!

  • Hi Betty:)I like your herb garden.Do you know we've got the same recipe in Bulgaria but we called it "pastet " and we put garlic instead of onion.Garlic reduces blood pressure very well:).Nice to see you in your kitchen again!

  • betty looks like a chick i would like to lick her neck bones and shave her toe hairs and sprinkle it in my ice cream and eat it ;)

  • Hi Alexis!

That sounds wonderful! I hope I can find the greek style yogurt--I want to try it! I'm always interested in any healthy substitutions! Thanks for a great tip!

  • Hey Betty!

Your recipe sounds great! What I usually do is use greek style yogurt (it is thicker b/c it is strained) in place of sour cream and mayonnaise. You may want to try it, it keeps the dip very healthy so you can eat as much as you want!
