http://www.ntv.co.ke It was business as usual at city hall today as councilors in the characteristic chaotic fashion finally carried out the citys mayoral polls. After the intrigues, drama and tension of recent weeks, Incumbent Godfrey Majiwa has been re-elected mayor. But his opponent Mutunga Mutungi gave him a scare before losing out by 48-46 votes. Robert Nagila reports on how a white bandage from the ODM bags of tricks swung the contest their way.
It's against the law. Votes are supposed to be private and one can only show their vote to someone who is assisting them to vote. It's the same law all over the world in any democratic situation.

thanks slytheron...i now get it...but why can't they just show their vote to their chief whip like the ODM MP's did when they were voting Marende for speaker?

The law states that if one is disabled, they need assistance to vote. Even though these fellas aren't exactly "disabled" as such, they are still considered as such and so "qualify" for assistance. Get it?
When someone else assists you, aren't they going to know how you voted? The bandages are put on people whose loyalties are questionable. That way their colleagues can ensure that they tow the line. Get it now? So smart!!
