  • awesome... i dont have words to describe what it makes me feels. touches my soul... radhike

  • Actually, Its nots based on the person's last name or religious beliefs. Its based on the style that they learn. You will notice that Pundits and Ustads have different styles of playing.

Also, I think pundit sounds cooler.

  • Great Ustad Habib Khan!

  • in the past pandit was the level given to the high level of studies in musical knowledge so you can be a muslim pandit or hindu pandit it was explain by Mehdi Hassan Sahab in one interview and also in the vocabulary of indian classical music in 2 great books Marif-u-Naghmat Jald one and two and also Tohfat-ul-hind.Now pandit is the hindu maestro Ustad for muslim and Master for christians about habib khan i heard that now he is hindu so he is not Ustad but Pandit habib khan i don't know

  • And playing style? Are you serious?

  • And pundit is and English word. PANDIT is the Hindi. Again it is based on religion - even though he music IS the religion

  • No it is not based on playing styles : ) Do some research

  • This is still sillysahil.

    I'm on a friend's account.

  • Yeah you are right. Interesting because it is traditionally based on last name - hence Hindu last name Pandit and Muslim last name Ustad. Both mean the same thing, "One surrounded by the senses consisting of knowledge and light" But yes he seems to like Pandit. I personally think Ustad sounds cooler ; )

  • I'm pretty sure its Pundit Habib Khan
