On September 30, 2011 at 11:08am, Derek Deville's Qu8k (pronounced "Quake") launched from the Black Rock Desert in Nevada to an altitude of 121,000' before returning safely to earth. Above 99% of the atmosphere the sky turns black in the middle of the day and the curvature of the earth is clearly visible.

My tip is to go on a very high mountain and launch it from there,awesome view and higher altitude( be careful not to loose the rocket in space though)

@hardstyle905 why isnt it? all you have to do is take out all the gas particles, it is very possible to do. and theres a 1mmx1mm vaccume somewhere in space

@hardstyle905 sound could be traveling though the soild parts of the rocket. although yes there is still gasses that high up. you can get a perfect vaccume also
