@kikipoo25 To answer your question, no. the aircraft had the number two engine throttle in the climb detent. as the aircraft sped down the runway, the asymmetric thrust caused it to veer left, off a ledge, and into the tam warehouse at over 90 kts. the fact that it became airborne (but uncontrolled) after it went off the steep drop added to the Gs the passengers were subjected to. everyone had been killed on impact.

@cantore98 He kept the broken one on accelerate, which caused the unbalanced thrusters to cause the plane to turn to the right, sending them off Runway 35L and over a major throughfare, hitting a TAM Airlines building.  199 people were killed, all 187 on the plane and 12 on the ground.

TAM Airlines Flight 3054 was attempting a landing at Congonhas Aiport in Sao Paulo, Brazil. They were attempting to land with only one reverse thruster. With a non-operative reverse thruster, he should have left the broken one on idle, while putting the other on reverse.
