The real date that a Jehovah's Witness told me in my House Living Room is that the real calculated date is "1934" NOT "1914". I don't know the sources where you got your date??

@Jules7892 What are you on crack or something? NO JW WILL EVER MENTION THE DATE 1934!! It's not taught by the Watchtower Society at all. But then again, 1914 isn't even in the bible. The person who mentioned that date of 1934 to you was wrong.

@Jules7892 1914 is a date they contrived. It is not biblical at all. This date is crucial for them and they still hold to it. THEY HAVE TO, IT IS THE FOUNDATION OF THEIR RELIGION. They believe Jesus returned "invisibly" in 1914, then in 1919 Jesus selected the Watchtower Society among all religions to be it's faithful & Discreet Slave. They also taught that "the generation of 1914" would not all pass away before armagedon. Well, looks like they ran out of time. Watchtower changed it in 2010.

@Jules7892 A witness told you? A friend of a friend told you? I grew up with the teaching of 1914. The date 1914 is splattered thru much of their literature. Maybe not as much today as it used to, because it is becoming an embarrassment.

You should check sources yourself instead of just taking anyone's word for it, I recommend jwfacts.com

@Danmera This guy Jules7892 is another lost person. You're right though about the Society not using the date 1914 anymore. Do this when you get a chance. Take your Watchtower cd-rom library type in 1914 in the search box pick a date for the Watchtower magazine like 1964, 1974,1984, 1994, 2009 and with each of those years look at the number of search results for 1914 decrease. This is deliberate!! They are trying to brush 1914 under the rug for sure!! They are hoping that the newbies will forget.

Yes...I remember being taught by the JWs that this generation would not pass away...then, they changed it and said we don't know when Armageddon is coming. Then I began to research this religion. I thank the Lord that I did and am now deprogramming myself from the wrong teachings!!!!! It is a cult, and a brainwashing one at that!!!!!

originally they said 1914 and when it didnt hapen they changed to 1934 and have and will just keep chaning. They are a cult

I have a question. Have you thought about simply telling him to never discuss it with you again and to respect your wished on this. That you have thought long and hard on this and this is the way you feel? I know this is a tuff situation you are in I have been in a similar one myself
