I love this song. It was on the Take Me Home album, along with the underrated Love & Pain - bar none of her best vocals and heartfelt interpretive resplendence of song in her repertoire. Most of the album is signature Bob Esty production that reigned during Casablanca records brief dominance of Disco. Cher wrote this song about then ex Greg Allman and how he was 'too far gone' to get to know his son, so the emotion felt in her performance is personal and heartfelt. Cher is peak on balladry.

@EcstaticMomentz: I think what ravenwhitechapel meant by "if she had BALLS she would be the biggest star next to..." was that if she were a MAN, she'd have received the same recognition as other male stars, such as Lennon, Elton and The Beatles. ;o)
