Snow in downtown Los Angeles?

Well, there was a little patch trucked in for the grand opening! But while that was fleeting, the new store is not. It is an impressive mix of snowboard, surf, skate, art, and lifestyle products. The store has two separate entrances for Burton and Channel Island Surfboards, but they blend seamlessly together as one (Burton, by the way, bought the legendary brand a year ago created by Al Merrick and ridden by surf icons like Kelly Slater, Rob Machado, and our very own Volcom sales rep and Billabong XXL winner Kenny Skindog Collins).

Pro surfers, snowboarders, skaters, action-sports industry heavyweights, and even a mix of Hollywood celebrities showed up to the invite-only grand opening. Jake Burton and several Burton team riders were in attendance. Shaun White skated a mini ramp on the roof. Trevor Andrews' band "Trouble" threw down a solid set. And the obligatory post-party barfing took place.
Solid performance by everyone!
