when collapsed they look like frisbee golf nets... a neighbor made me see it this way, i laughed...
dryers are maybe the worst energy hogs you can have in a home, aside from actually heating the whole home to keep warm!

LOL. You too eh? And it just isn't getting better. :(

Stunning? British weather. There is a very good reason the we are a famed sea-faring nation. Being an island it was the only way for most of human history that you could get away from bloody climate.

I would love to visit London one day =) The thing I would want to see/do the most is the London Eye..

The London Eye is definitely a must-do if you're in London. You need good weather for it. If it's clear you can see clear across the city. If it isn't, then there isn't really much point in being hoisted all that way up in the air only to look at grey.

i have one of those laundry lines, stupid fuckers put in parts that rust, its most all aluminum except for the attaching hardware, stupid... yet mine has one more line, ha!... what also bothered me was how amazingly dusty these kits were at the huge busy hardware store, like most of we lazy wasteful americans wouldn't think of not using a dryer...
i've jokingly, yet also somewhat accurately, referred to the london area as the southern california of the UK, best weather - like for USA...

I'll have to check mine. i don't think it has the rusting problem. I'd be pretty annoyed if my stuff ends up with indelible rust stains.
Mine doesn't get as much use as it could. If only the South of England was like California. Instead it's mostly grey and rainy. Still it keeps it nice and green. Look at a satellite picture of London and it's surprising just how much green there is.

They used to call this month 'Flaming June'. I could think of an alternative epithet, also starting with 'F': how are my tomatoes going to ripen with weather like this!?

It's starting to look like another year without Summer. Although I suppose there is hope until September drags its soggy boots into October.
Green tomato chutney may have to be the answer to your horticultural woe.
