This is amazing; at times it sounds like a different soprano but it is clearly Kiri Te Kanawa; probably a young Kiri (her voice was more energetic and vibrant in the 1970's) In the 80's and 90's, her voice tended to become a tad too sedate and elegantly mannered and controlled. I love Kiri but it's rare to find her in spirited voice like this. The conducting of this Alleluja is very fast and bouncy....love it...her coloratura and trill is excellent.

Very beautiful.
Can anybody help me finding Sarah Brightman´s version of "Allejuja" I´d appreciate that very much.

Kiri sounds like she's falling asleep here. WTF. Where's the zest?

It's a very very young Kiri! About 27 years of age at that time, if I'm not wrong.

This does not sound like her... ha ha

I saw here in Boston last year (or was it '07?) on her farewell tour. She was wonderful. The voice was exquisite and she looked more beautiful than ever.

Exsultate Jubilate - Kiri te Kanawa
Hello musicyh and kachzvi18, I always enjoy the thoughtful comments you make on Dame Kiri's artistry. I have a simple question: do you think that her training in church music with Sister Leo enhanced her opera singing? Given that many opera singers nowadays lack training in church music would their technique be adversely affected?
And happy birthday to Dame Kiri (in 3 days?) May she have many more happy returns and give more recitals. We all owe so much to her!

I agree. She still has those beautiful deep brown eyes, and her singing is still as close to perfection as you can get given her age. I just did a concert with Kiri (I was part of the orchestra) in Oct 2008, and she's still beautiful - at 64. I could never forget looking directly into those eyes and seeing the zest and warmth in there.
