This is the 30-second Pre-Title Teaser Trailer from the episode 'Abnormal Psych' (#1.07).
This was the 2nd of 5 scripts that Executive Producer Lawrence Hertzog wrote for the series, with 'Less than the Eye Can See' being his next and last 1st Season episode, before his two 2nd Season teleplays; 'Playback' and 'Autumn'.
Director Michael Preece would go to clock over 60 episodes on two long-running CBS shows; their iconic soap opera "Dallas", and the Chuck Norris action crime drama "Walker, Texas Ranger".
The noteworthy name of this episode however is Robert Vaughan, known worldwide as Napoleon Solo in the hugely popular espionage series of the 1960's; "The Man from U.N.C.L.E.". He was also one of the "The Magnificent Seven" in the classic western, portraying Lee, and portrayed Chalmers in the legendary Steven McQueen crime thriller "Bullitt". It could possibly be perceived that Vaughan's performance in this episode of "STINGRAY" spurred Creator & Executive Producer Stephen Cannell to have him cast as General Hunt Stockwell in the 5th and final season of his other NBC series, "The A-Team".
Finally, this episode saw the 2nd appearance of recurring character Chief Nelson Riskin, played by actor James Handy. He would return for his 3rd and final calling in the 2nd Season episode 'Blood Money' (#2.12).
"STINGRAY" was an action/crime drama/detective series, that ran from 1985 to 1987, on NBC in the United States, then later in the UK on the leading satellite and cable channel SKY One. The show starred Nick Mancuso (of "Under Siege" and "Under Siege 2: Dark Territory" fame), and was created by Stephen J. Cannell (of "The A-Team" and "The Rockford Files").
